Adek Awards Launch Second Edition With Dh7 Million Prize Money

The Abu Dhabi Department of Education and Knowledge (Adek) has launched the second edition of the Adek Awards, building on the success of its first year. These awards honor the achievements of educators, schools, and learning programs throughout Abu Dhabi.

This year, the awards are open to all public, private, and charter schools in Abu Dhabi, with early education institutions (EEIs) included in select categories for the first time.

A total of 16 award categories are now available, including six new additions. Winners will share prizes worth Dh7 million, which will be used to fund improvement initiatives at the winning schools and EEIs.

New Categories to Highlight Excellence in Education

Among the new additions are the Best Parental Engagement Award, Director of the Year Award, and Outstanding Educator Award. These updates reflect Adek’s focus on enhancing education at all levels.

The awards also introduce the Best AI Programme Award, recognizing schools that have successfully implemented AI to improve learning and operations.

Additionally, the Best Adek Engagement Award will honor schools that foster strong partnerships with Adek, while the Best Anti-Bullying Programme Award will reward schools that create safe, inclusive environments for students.

The awards also retain popular categories from the inaugural edition, such as:

  • Best Inclusion Practice
  • Best Professional Development Programme
  • Best Student Wellbeing Programme
  • Best Reading Programme
  • Best Arabic Programme
  • Principal of the Year
  • Outstanding Teacher
  • Unsung Hero Award

Sara Musallam, Chairman of Adek, said:

“After the success of the first Adek Awards, we’re thrilled to expand this year’s recognition. These awards showcase the dedication of our educators and schools who work tirelessly to create enriching learning experiences for Abu Dhabi’s students. By introducing new categories, we aim to celebrate their efforts to inspire future generations who will contribute to Abu Dhabi’s growth and success.”

Key Details for 2023-2024 Awards

Registrations for the awards are open until January 5, 2025. An expert panel will assess all entries based on established criteria to determine the winners.
