While there’s no on-track action or roaring engines at the Yas Marina Circuit, fans still head to Yas Mall to catch shuttle buses to the venue. From young children to seasoned racing enthusiasts, people from all walks of life come to soak in the electric atmosphere of the prestigious event.

A Boost for Tourism and Economy

For 16 years, the Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix has delivered thrilling races while significantly contributing to the UAE’s tourism and economy. According to official statistics, 65% of last year’s 170,000 attendees at Yas Marina were tourists.

Saif Rashid Al-Noaimi, CEO of Ethara, highlighted the race’s impact:

“We have seen record demand this year. Last year, 70% of the 170,000 spectators came from outside the UAE. Those who attended spent over one billion dirhams, which is a big boost to Abu Dhabi’s economy,” Al-Noaimi shared.

Fans Flock to the Circuit

Even though Max Verstappen has already secured the championship title this season, fans remain eager to attend. Outside the media gates on Thursday, some were seen pleading for tickets, showcasing the irresistible pull of the event.

Upgrades and Innovations for 2024

One reason for the Grand Prix’s enduring popularity is the constant innovation by the organizers. Al-Noaimi emphasized their efforts to enhance the fan experience:

“This year, we’ve made upgrades to the paddock club, including new entrances, a revamped rooftop, and a 360-degree viewing platform. We’ve also added new fan zones and viewing areas at Yas Marina Circuit. It’s going to be our biggest and best event yet,” he said.

After-Race Concerts Add to the Excitement

Another major highlight of the Abu Dhabi GP is the after-race concerts. This weekend, American superstar Eminem will take the stage, adding even more excitement for fans.

“Each year, the concerts are a key part of the event, offering a mix of top artists over four nights to create an unforgettable experience,” Al-Noaimi added.
