Significant Improvement in Student Performance

Fourth-grade students improved by 17 points in mathematics and 22 points in science, while eighth-grade students’ scores rose by 15 points in mathematics and 14 points in science.

Gender Gap and Home Resources Impact

The 2023 TIMSS results highlighted wider achievement gaps between boys and girls, particularly in fourth-grade mathematics, compared to 2019. Additionally, the report emphasized the strong link between home resources and students’ achievements in mathematics and science across both grades globally.
