The Fujairah Environment Authority, along with the Port of Fujairah, Fujairah Research Centre, and Yas SeaWorld Research and Rescue Centre, successfully helped a Bryde’s whale return to its migration route after it was spotted near the Port of Fujairah. The collaboration ensured the whale’s safety while preserving the region’s marine biodiversity.
Teams of experts and researchers carried out scientific studies and marine surveys to check the whale’s health, behavior, and vital signs. They also monitored the seawater quality around the area. These efforts confirmed that the whale was in good health with normal vital signs.
Around-the-Clock Rescue Efforts
Dedicated teams worked day and night to guide the whale safely back to its migration path without disrupting navigation at the Port of Fujairah. The advanced monitoring and rescue operations showcased precision and professionalism, making the process smooth and successful.
“This type of mission demands coordinated efforts and collaboration among key organizations to ensure the situation is handled without affecting Fujairah’s environmental security,” said Aseela Al Mualla, Director of the Fujairah Environment Authority.
Healthy Marine Environment in Fujairah
“Whales are vital to maintaining ecological balance, and their presence along Fujairah’s coasts highlights the region’s rich biodiversity and healthy marine ecosystem,” Al Mualla added.
She also expressed gratitude to the Authority’s strategic partners and scientific teams for their tireless efforts. The collaboration with the Biodiversity Team at the Fujairah Environment Authority ensured the Bryde’s whale returned safely to its migration path.
