A family in the UAE has fulfilled their late daughter’s dream by publishing her book, just over a year after her tragic death in an accident. Dr Mira Murad Al Blooshi, a 27-year-old Emirati doctor, lost her life in a crash caused by a reckless driver last year.
For four years, Dr Mira worked tirelessly on her book about Islam, determined to share her insights with the world. Following her passing, her family made it their mission to complete her work as a tribute to her memory.
Dr Mira had always envisioned signing her book, Ma Gabla AlNoor (Before the Light), which delves into life before Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). Her family included her handwritten note in the book: “May Allah grant you success and guidance, bless you in your times, and manage your affairs for what He loves and is pleased with, and make life easy for you.”
On November 12, 2023, Dr Mira was involved in a tragic accident on her way to work. A reckless driver caused a minor collision with her car, and moments later, another speeding vehicle crashed into her from behind. She succumbed to her injuries two weeks later at the same hospital where she worked.
After her death, Dr Mira’s family united to publish her book, which was launched at the Sharjah International Book Fair. They donated the book’s proceeds to charity and distributed free copies to those in need, ensuring her message reached as many people as possible.
A Devastating Loss
Ahmed Al Blooshi, Dr Mira’s 26-year-old brother, shared the painful details of the accident. “My sister was in two accidents within minutes,” he said. While stopping after the first minor accident, she was struck by another car, leading to critical injuries, including a head injury that required surgery.
Ahmed expressed his grief: “Mira was not just my sister; she was like a second mother to me. No money can replace her. Her loss has left a void in our family.”
Dr Mira had a deep passion for Islamic history and the biography of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH). She dedicated herself to researching and writing about these subjects. “Her passing is a significant loss to our family and the UAE community,” Ahmed added.
He also urged drivers to be more responsible: “Reckless driving destroys families and shatters dreams. These careless actions bring pain and loss to others.”
Her Legacy Continues
Dr Mira had plans for a second book, Noor Ala Noor (Light Upon Light). She had already collected sources and drafted an outline. Her family is now working on completing this book based on her notes, hoping to publish it soon.
Dr Mira, who was from Kalba, earned her bachelor’s degree in medicine and surgery from the University of Sharjah. She worked as a resident physician in the Department of Anesthesia and Intensive Care at Rashid Hospital. Additionally, she completed a master’s degree in quality and safety in healthcare management from the Royal College of Surgeons in Ireland.
Through her family’s efforts, Dr Mira’s work and dreams live on, inspiring others while honoring her memory.
