UAE Weather Warning: Dense Fog and Light Rain Expected

After some areas in the UAE saw light rain and partly cloudy skies on Wednesday, especially in the eastern and northern regions, similar weather is expected across the country today, Thursday.

The National Centre of Meteorology (NCM) predicts partly cloudy to cloudy skies throughout the day, with low clouds forming in different areas.

Temperature and Rain Forecast

Light rain is likely over the sea and nearby islands. Maximum temperatures could reach up to 30°C in the UAE, with Abu Dhabi expected to hit 26°C and Dubai 28°C.

Minimum temperatures will drop to 16°C in Abu Dhabi, 17°C in Dubai, and as low as 8°C in internal regions.

Alerts for Foggy Conditions

The NCM has issued yellow and red alerts for fog in some areas, warning of reduced visibility. The alert indicates a “chance of fog formation with a deterioration in horizontal visibility, dropping further at times in some internal areas between 3 a.m. and 9 a.m. on Thursday.”

Humidity Levels

Humidity will be high overnight and on Friday morning, especially in internal areas. Levels are expected to range between 30% and 85% in Abu Dhabi and 30% to 75% in Dubai.

Wind and Sea Conditions

Winds will generally be light to moderate, occasionally picking up with speeds between 10 and 25 km/h, and gusts reaching up to 40 km/h. The wind direction will shift from the Northeast to Southeast.

The sea will remain calm with light waves in the Arabian Gulf and the Sea of Oman throughout the day.
