A 70-year-old Pakistani man has been sentenced to three months in prison after being found guilty of causing permanent disability to a 34-year-old Indian man during a fight over a parking spot in Dubai. After serving his jail term, the man will also be deported.

The incident occurred on February 8 last year, outside a residential building in Dubai’s Tecom area. A dispute over a parking space escalated into a physical altercation between the two men.

Court records reveal that the argument started when the Pakistani man took a parking spot that the Indian man was about to use. The situation turned heated, and the Pakistani man pushed the Indian man forcefully. This caused the latter to fall and sustain serious injuries.

Medical reports confirmed that the Indian man suffered a fractured tibia in his left leg, leading to nerve damage, muscle loss, and a permanent disability that affected 50% of the leg’s function.

In response, the Indian man reportedly hit the Pakistani man on the head, resulting in injuries that left him unable to perform personal tasks for 20 days.

Authorities arrived at the scene and took both men into custody for questioning. Forensic reports and witness statements, including those from the injured individuals and an on-site investigator, played a key role in the case.

During the investigation, the Pakistani man admitted to pushing the Indian man but claimed it was in reaction to verbal provocation.

Dubai Criminal Court convicted the Pakistani man of physical assault and causing permanent disability. Meanwhile, the charges against the Indian man were referred to the Misdemeanour Court, as they fell under its jurisdiction.
