As the weather cools down, both residents and tourists in Abu Dhabi are eager to enjoy the outdoor spaces. In preparation for the influx of visitors to public parks across the UAE, the city’s municipality has established approximately 253 designated barbecue spots within 28 parks and gardens both on and off Abu Dhabi Island.

The municipality has urged the public to utilize these designated areas for barbecuing, emphasizing the importance of maintaining park cleanliness and promoting sustainability for the enjoyment of all visitors. To facilitate safe barbecuing, the authority provides concrete platforms and waste disposal containers for used charcoal and other refuse, ensuring that the green spaces and trees are protected.

The following parks and gardens on Abu Dhabi Island feature designated barbecue areas:

  • Old Airport Park
  • Family Park 1
  • Family Park 2
  • Heritage Park
  • Heritage Park 4
  • Heritage Park 5
  • Al Zaafrana Park
  • Dolphin Park
  • Al Nahda Park
  • Arabian Gulf Park 1
  • Arabian Gulf Park 2
  • Al Boom Park
  • Al Mazoon Park (Al Qurm Beach)
  • Al Nofal Park

In Khalifa City, designated barbecue areas can be found in the following parks and gardens:

  • Al Jouri Park
  • Al Fan Park
  • Al Arjuwan Park
  • Al Qadi Park
  • Al Bairaq Park
  • Burjeel Park
  • Al Shamkha Square
  • Al Fanous Park in Al Shamkha City
  • Rabdan Park
  • Al Rahba Square
  • Al Wathba Park
  • Al Salamiya Park

The municipality has launched an awareness campaign titled “Enjoy your barbecue and preserve your place,” which encompasses all areas and cities under its jurisdiction.
