Abu Dhabi Introduces Free Diabetes, Cancer Screenings in Major Health Initiative

In a big leap towards preventive healthcare, the Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre and Ma’an (Authority of Social Contribution) have entered into a pioneering agreement to offer free cancer and diabetes screenings to needy residents. It is one initiative that forms part of a larger fundraising drive intended to make early detection accessible to everyone, particularly vulnerable and low-income groups.

The screenings will be offered at some health centers throughout Abu Dhabi, with a primary emphasis on early detection of breast cancer, colorectal cancer, and type 2 diabetes. Health authorities emphasize early diagnosis can significantly enhance treatment outcomes and decrease long-term health care expenses.

Emiratis or those who possess current UAE residence visas, especially within target age groups or with risk factors, will qualify for the screenings. More information on precise eligibility criteria and registration mechanisms will likely be released shortly through the official websites of ADPHC and Ma’an.

This public-private collaboration underscores Abu Dhabi’s commitment to promoting preventive care and enhancing the overall health of its population. It also encourages public participation through donations, ensuring a sustainable model for long-term community health benefits.
