Speaking at Abu Dhabi Finance Week, he revealed that this initiative will also contribute Dh100 billion to the GDP by 2035.

Understanding Life Sciences

Life sciences focus on studying living organisms, including microorganisms, plants, animals, and humans. This broad field includes branches like biology, anatomy, astrobiology, and biotechnology, among others.

Boost in Localised Firms and Clinical Studies

Al Mansoori highlighted that in 2024, Abu Dhabi saw 25% more firms localising within its life science cluster, with over 180 clinical studies conducted. This growth reflects Abu Dhabi’s commitment to advancing its healthcare and life sciences ecosystem.

Health as a Key to Economic Growth

“For us, health is wealth,” Al Mansoori stated. He emphasized Abu Dhabi’s focus on creating an efficient healthcare system centered on personalised and preventive care. The strategy is built on three key pillars:

  1. A healthy population.
  2. Top-quality healthcare services.
  3. Advanced technology to enhance productivity and reduce costs.

The UAE capital is transitioning from a reactive healthcare system to a proactive approach, where personalised interventions help predict and prevent health issues.

A Groundbreaking Genome Project

Al Mansoori noted that Abu Dhabi is completing the world’s largest genome project, integrating genetic and lifestyle data into a digital twin of its population. This innovation supports advanced clinical applications such as personalised cardiovascular screenings and tailored cancer treatments.

Abu Dhabi’s Visionary Approach

“Abu Dhabi doesn’t just focus on numbers but fosters partnerships that transform industries and improve lives,” Al Mansoori said. The capital’s forward-thinking strategies are paving the way for rapid advancements, making it a hub for innovation and progress.
