Abu Dhabi Police Alert: 90% Traffic Fine Discounts are Frauds

admin
SHARE

Abu Dhabi Police issued a public alert regarding fake social media pages and websites that claim to provide up to 90% discounts on traffic fines. The scams also guarantee services such as canceling the impounding of vehicles and deleting black points from driving records. Authorities are keen to note that these promotions are completely fake and were intended to trick people into giving out personal details or remitting money to unauthorized parties.

The only valid traffic fine reduction plan is the “Act Early & Benefit” program, which offers a 35% reduction in fines in the event of payment within 60 days and a 25% reduction within a year. These reductions are only for minor offenses; major offenses are not allowed.

Residents are advised to confirm any information related to traffic fines via verified sources like the Abu Dhabi Police app, TAMM platform, or Ministry of Interior website. Self-reported sources may result in monetary loss and exposure of personal information.

To inform about suspected scams or frauds, people can report through the “Police Station in Your Phone” option on their smart app, dial toll-free 8002626, SMS 2828, or mailto:aman@adpolice.gov.ae. It is actively engaging with banks and social media to track down and close such illegal operations.
