In a major push to strengthen its public safety infrastructure, Abu Dhabi has rolled out a ‘Safety Patrol’ programme, to enhance emergency preparedness and foster preventive safety consciousness across the emirate. The programme, launched by authorities locally, forms part of the government’s broader pledge to save lives and make the community stronger.
The program establishes specialized patrol units responsible for detecting likely dangers, offering real-time assistance during emergencies, and spreading awareness among the public regarding safety measures. These units will move through high-risk areas, public arenas, and transport routes to ensure that emergency response units are better equipped and strategically located.
As per officials, the Safety Patrol will also cooperate with schools, businesses, and civic organizations to undertake awareness drives, simulations, and training workshops. These aim to empower citizens with the requisite knowledge to act promptly and responsibly during emergencies like fires, natural disasters, or traffic accidents.
The public has been called upon to assist Safety Patrol teams and actively engage with awareness campaigns. As Abu Dhabi continues to lead the way in urban security, this program is yet another move towards creating a smarter, safer, and better-prepared city.
