Abu Dhabi Tames: Dh4,000 Penalties for Liquid Waste Crimes

Abu Dhabi authorities have launched the enforcement of more stringent environmental rules, fining up to Dh4,000 on individuals and firms breaching liquid waste dumping regulations. The step is intended to safeguard public health as well as preserve the emirate’s promise to cleanliness and sustainability in shared city areas.

The penalties are aimed at improper dumping or discharge of liquid waste in public spaces, such as streets, open grounds, and drainages. Authorities stressed that the acts not only destroy infrastructure but also create serious environmental and health risks.

The Abu Dhabi Waste Management Center (Tadweer) demanded that residents, businesses, and industrial operations adhere to proper waste management practices and send liquid waste to approved facilities. Awareness programs are also being launched to inform the public about safe and legal disposal techniques.

This initiative reflects Abu Dhabi’s proactive approach to environmental stewardship and public well-being. Authorities have warned that inspection campaigns will intensify in the coming weeks to ensure full compliance across the emirate.
