Abu Dhabi’s ADNEC Group has inked an agreement to buy the UK-based BDCG Holdings. It is a significant expansion of its global portfolio in the events and exhibitions industry. This Dubai-based group has purchased the owner of the business and events icon Business Design Centre (BDC) located in North London’s Islington.

This is one of London’s favorite event venues. It is well known for hosting over 130 high-profile events every year, including the likes of the London Art Fair, HIX, and Surface Design Show. These events have a total annual attendance of almost a million visitors.

The Business Design Centre is a Grade II listed site with a lot of history. It covers 4.5 acres of prime real estate. It was opened in 1862 as the Royal Agricultural Hall. It was converted into a modern exhibition venue in the 1980s while retaining its Victorian architecture.

The center now has 6,000 square meters of space for events and conferences. It also has more than 12,500 square meters of premium space, including showrooms, offices, and serviced offices. This versatility has established the venue as one of the top addresses in London for trade fairs and cultural events. It is a melting pot for arts, design, and business.

This accomplishment has further strengthened the ADNEC’s reach in the UK. It has owned Excel as well. It is a premier event space. Excel has served as Europe’s largest integrated conference and exhibitions venue hosting site. it has hosted top events such as the World Travel Market and the BETT technology conference.

The space covers a surface area of 25,000 square meters. As a result, it was known as the first International Convention Centre in London in 2010. Now it spans 125,000 sq m of dedicated MICE space. It hosts the newly launched Immerse LDN-an immersive entertainment district. This space has already attracted world tech innovators and creators.

Besides London, Modon Holding also thinks strategically in the role of positioning Abu Dhabi as a global events capital. they want to make Abu Dhabi an arts center of excellence, and a champion of innovation. The acquisition of more culturally rich assets and economically significant ones brings ADNEC and Modon Holding to form a strong and dynamic network for collaboration.
