The Statistics Centre – Abu Dhabi (SCAD) has unveiled a new framework aimed at promoting data-driven innovation and strengthening collaboration between the public and private sectors in Abu Dhabi
The Data for Good (D4G) Framework was introduced during the GITEX event at the Abu Dhabi Pavilion Majlis, marking a significant advancement in establishing secure and systematic partnerships that empower both sectors to utilize real-time data analytical insights for the public benefit.
Abdulla Gharib Alqemzi, Director General of SCAD, commented: “The Data for Good alliance is innovating how we leverage data to drive innovation and progress. By building trust and fostering collaboration between public and private sectors, this framework enables us to unlock the full potential of data—the lifeblood of modern governance—to create actionable insights that benefit society and fuel economic growth.”
Data is increasingly becoming a critical driver of modern governance, equipping decision-makers to tackle complex challenges. The D4G Framework positions Abu Dhabi at the forefront of utilizing data to bolster sustainable development and economic resilience. It is founded on three pillars—trust, innovation, and sustainability—ensuring that data is shared securely while safeguarding both privacy and competitive advantages.
The D4G Framework is a collaborative initiative involving over 60 partners from the public and private sectors. It has been designed according to global best practices and is supported by several key components that foster secure and responsible sharing. These include:
- Data Stewardship: Ensuring proper management and governance of shared data.
- Privacy and Security: Guaranteeing compliance with international privacy standards.
- Data Ethics: Promoting the ethical use of data for the benefit of society.
- Collaborative Governance: Aligning stakeholders through shared objectives and transparent decision-making.
At its core, the D4G Framework aims to create a more inclusive and resilient Abu Dhabi by enhancing public services and improving real-time decision-making. An SCAD statement added: “This win-win model fosters economic growth and strengthens Abu Dhabi’s position as a global leader in data-driven governance.”
