Ahmedabad Airport Reopens After Deadly Air India Crash

After the traumatic Air India Dreamliner crash that shook the country, Ahmedabad’s Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel International Airport is finally back in business, and flight schedules are slowly resuming normalcy. The runway was briefly closed to allow for emergency rescue work and investigation processes following the crash of an Air India London-bound flight with 242 passengers aboard.

Authorities moved quickly to remove wreckage, secure the scene, and support emergency responders with medical and logistical assistance. With the area stabilized, the airport was back in operation under increased security and technical review. Yet officials have warned all passengers to pre-check the status of their flight for possible delay and diverted schedules.

Airports at Ahmedabad are in close coordination with airlines to ensure order and passenger safety. More ground staff and support teams have been added to handle inquiries, help stranded passengers, and deal with the rush of rebookings. Though normalcy is restored, an air of gloom pervades both travelers and airport staff.

Even as probes into the crash proceed, air safety standards have been strengthened temporarily at all of India’s major airports. Civil aviation officials have called for restraint and cooperation from the public as the country mourns, introspects, and recovers from this devastating setback to the skies.
