In a major leap toward smarter governance, the UAE’s Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) has unveiled a fully AI-powered upgrade to its work permit services. With 14 digital channels now operational, the ministry is delivering lightning-fast approvals, minimal paperwork, and a seamless user experience — raising the bar for public service innovation.

The digital transformation is part of the UAE’s national strategy to become a global tech leader in government efficiency. MoHRE’s new system uses artificial intelligence to automate application screening, fraud detection, and permit issuance. The result? Significantly reduced waiting times and a sharp cut in bureaucratic red tape.

According to officials, the streamlined approach benefits both businesses and employees by increasing transparency, providing real-time updates, and enabling for faster decision-making. Users can now manage permits, contracts, and renewals directly from the MoHRE app, website, and affiliated smart service centres.

“This is just the beginning,” a MoHRE official stated. “We are moving towards a fully integrated digital ecosystem where artificial intelligence doesn’t just assist but enhances service delivery across the board.” The effort serves as a model for other ministries seeking to connect with the UAE’s digital government goal.
