A Filipino family in Ajman is celebrating their third straight year volunteering for the Ramadan Aman campaign, a UAE-wide drive to serve Iftar meals to drivers throughout the holy month. Their persistent involvement demonstrates the spirit of generosity and inter-cultural camaraderie that Ramadan encourages between the diverse communities of the UAE.
The five-member family spends their nights distributing meals at traffic intersections, among thousands of volunteers nationwide. “It’s a family tradition now,” the father stated, reiterating how volunteering has made them realize and understand compassion and community service more deeply.
Year after year, the family has seen firsthand how Ramadan Aman contributes to fewer traffic accidents during Iftar rush hour and promotes a culture of generosity. “It’s not only about providing food,” the mother continued, “it’s about making a positive impact during this special period.”
