Ajman Police announced a 50% discount on traffic fines from November 4 to December 15, 2024.
In a message on the social media platform X, they stated that this discount applies to all fines for violations that occurred in Ajman before October 31.
However, the discount does not include “aggravated fines.”
On October 1, Ajman introduced a smart monitoring system with 26 locations set to install electronic gates to catch traffic violators.
This AI-powered system uses cameras to detect offenses like using a mobile phone while driving and not wearing a seat belt.
Sheikh Major General Sultan bin Abdullah Al Nuaimi, Commander-in-Chief of Ajman Police, mentioned that this system aims to reduce road accidents and improve safety for both drivers and pedestrians.
The authority explained that using smart systems to issue violations helps enhance traffic safety and prevents issues from driving with an expired license.
Ajman Police urged everyone to follow traffic rules and regulations. Using phones or other distractions while driving results in a Dh400 fine and four black points on the driving license, according to federal law.
The law also requires all passengers in a vehicle, including those in the back seat, to wear seat belts. If not, the driver will be fined Dh400 and receive four black points.
