Dubai has unveiled bold plans for the new Al Maktoum International Airport, set to become the world’s largest and most advanced aviation hub. Designed to be five times the size of DXB, this futuristic airport will not only boost capacity but also deliver a luxurious and tech-powered passenger experience.
Some of the seven outstanding features include independent baggage systems, AI-driven immigration, and biometric boarding—all of which are designed to provide hassle-free travel. The terminal will also feature expansive green areas, high-end shopping, and entertainment zones, making the airport a destination in its own right, rather than merely a transit hub.
With sustainability as its pillar, the new airport will take advantage of solar power, intelligent cooling systems, and environmentally friendly materials. It’s projected to accommodate up to 260 million passengers per year upon completion, making Dubai South a global aviation and logistics gateway.
Construction is already in full swing with a huge Dh128 billion investment, marking Dubai’s long-term strategy for air mobility, tourism, and economic growth. Upon completion, Al Maktoum International will provide a new world standard in global airport design and efficiency.
