A marine animal’s life is saved by the Dubai Municipality and marine rescue team’s prompt action. Dubai Police’s marine rescue unit, in collaboration with Dubai Municipality, successfully rescued an endangered sea turtle that had become entangled in fishing gear off the emirate’s coast.
The rescue took place after concerned beachgoers reported the distressed animal struggling near the surface. Responding swiftly, the marine rescue team located the turtle, which was trapped in a web of discarded fishing lines and plastic debris.
The turtle was delicately released by a delicate operation specialist, who made sure no harm was done. The turtle was examined by marine biologists and found to be healthy; it was then returned to the sea at a secure place.
🌊 A Call for Ocean Awareness
Authorities urged the public to dispose of fishing materials responsibly and report any sightings of injured or stranded marine animals.
“Our waters are home to diverse marine life. It’s our duty to protect them,” said a Dubai Municipality spokesperson.
This successful rescue highlights Dubai’s ongoing commitment to marine conservation and environmental protection, especially for endangered species like sea turtles that face increasing threats from human activity.
