An opening 63 at Al Hamra Golf Club gave the English golfer, Marcus Armitage, an early lead going into the final day of the Ras Al Khaimah Championship. Armitage, a 37-year-old, posted an incredible 11 birdies, including an astonishing five on the bounce coming around the turn, to leave the course 9 under par for the day. His effort marked an early clubhouse target that never came under pressure throughout the day.

Armitage’s closest competitors, Sweden’s Alexander Bjork and Spain’s Ivan Cantero, are trailing by four strokes after rounds of 67. Armitage expressed his satisfaction with the round, attributing his success to a bit of rest and a fresh mindset. “The putter was on fire,” he said, noting that he was in the zone and everything he looked at, he was thinking about holing.

The Englishman, Armitage, began his round from the tenth tee and dreamt of taking a lead on a tricky hole when he converted a 40-foot birdie putt. Bogeys aside, a hot putter and consistent golf ensured that the golfer had maintained his first-day lead as he was already looking forward to potentially gusty conditions in coming rounds.

With a four-shot lead, Armitage is in a strong position as the tournament progresses, but he remains focused and ready to face whatever challenges come his way.
