Asalanka to Lead Sri Lanka in ODI Series vs Australia

Sri Lanka has promoted Charith Asalanka to captain in the upcoming Australia ODI series, ushering in a leadership change for the team. The team will be led by him after the dismal Test series against Australia where the Australian side won both Test matches comprehensively last month.

With limited-overs cricket being a new challenge, Asalanka’s leadership will be critical in reviving the team’s form. A middle-order batsman who has consistently performed well in ODIs, he is likely to provide stability and strategic acumen to the side.

Riding high on Test series success, Australia would look to continue their dominance into the ODI format. Potent batting line-up and aggressive bowling attack made them a formidable unit but, Sri Lanka is looking to come back with some renewed energy coupled with home advantage.

Fans would look forward to the ODI showdown, hoping for a competitive series in which Sri Lanka shows its resilience under Asalanka’s captaincy against the strong Australian team.
