Can Spurs Resist Liverpool’s Anfield Pressure in Carabao Cup Showdown?

Tottenham Hotspur will have to dig deep as they make the trip to Anfield on Thursday evening for the second leg of their Carabao Cup semi-final against Liverpool. With a spot in the final up for grabs, Ange Postecoglou’s men are going to need to produce a solid performance if they are going to be able to resist Jurgen Klopp’s high-flying Reds.

Liverpool would have been desperate to restore any lead and look forward to getting the silverware at home, where they will see much action from Mohamed Salah and Darwin Núñez, backed by the electric atmosphere at Anfield. Spurs will bank on their defensive solidity as much as their counter-attacking ability to absorb the pressure.

With both teams affected by injuries, it will be tactical changes that would make the difference. Spurs need James Maddison and Son Heung-min in full flow to try and expose Liverpool’s high defensive line, whereas the home side will try to dominate possession and press the opponent hard. This promises to be a highly enthralling battle of intensity, skill, and determination.
