Carlos Sainz Set to Join Williams for Abu Dhabi Post-Season Formula One Test

Carlos Sainz, currently with Ferrari, is set to participate in Williams’ post-season Formula One test at Yas Marina on December 10, as confirmed by the team. This marks an early start for Sainz with his future team, ahead of the final race on December 8.

Sainz will leave Ferrari at the end of this season, paving the way for seven-time world champion Lewis Hamilton, who is moving to Ferrari from Mercedes.

Building the New Partnership

“This early opportunity will allow Carlos and Williams to begin building their relationship,” the team said. During the test, Sainz will get his first drive in the FW46, preparing for a smooth transition into his new team environment.

Meanwhile, Hamilton will not test for Ferrari in Abu Dhabi due to ongoing commercial commitments with Mercedes, leaving this test as the last opportunity for drivers this year.

The official pre-season testing for 2025 kicks off in Bahrain from February 26-28.
