Delhi Airport T2 Closure: What You Need to Know for International Flight

The Indira Gandhi International Airport in Delhi has announced that Terminal 2 (T2) will be closed temporarily for maintenance and upgrade. The terminal is expected to affect daily operations since T2 handles 1,300 flight movements daily, including domestic and international flights. Travelers going to or from international destinations should expect possible disruptions.

1. Will International Flights Be Affected?
International flight operations are mostly carried on T3, which will be kept open during the closure of T2. Therefore, flights involving takeoffs and landings at international destinations are likely to be unaffected. Nonetheless, passengers who are flying from domestic sectors and are passing through T2 may find some changes in the assignment of their flights to other terminals.

2. Alternative Terminal Operations:
All airlines using T2 will be temporarily relocated to other terminals, mainly T1 and T3. Passengers are requested to check their flight details to ascertain the updated terminal information prior to arrival at the airport to avoid confusion.

3. Impact on Passengers and Services:
Some minor delays and changed services in travel may occur among passengers moving through the closed terminals. Airline and airport staff are cooperating closely to avoid affecting the customer experience as much as possible while informing passengers of the schedule.

4. Why Closed?
The authorities at the airport have stated that the T2 closure is part of a major upgrade in an effort to improve the passenger experience, upgrade facilities, and rationalize operations. The improvements will increase capacity and better accommodate the growing passenger traffic at Delhi Airport.

While the temporary closure of T2 may cause some inconvenience to domestic passengers, international travelers can be assured that their flights should operate as scheduled from T3. Passengers are advised to follow official airline updates and the Delhi Airport website for real-time information.
