Delhi private schools have come under the scanner with Chief Minister Gupta giving a strong warning against unwarranted fee hikes, threatening swift action against offenders. The decision has been taken in wake of increasing complaints from parents about spurt in fees.
Delhi’s Education Minister has ordered a comprehensive audit of 1,600 private schools across the city. The goal: to identify institutions that have increased fees without valid justification or in violation of government norms.
CM Gupta asserted that education is a right, not a privilege, and that financial exploitation in the name of schooling will not be tolerated. “Any school found guilty of unfair practices will face strict legal consequences,” he said.
The city’s administration has encouraged parents to report suspicious hikes and assured transparency in the audit process. The crackdown aims to restore balance between quality education and affordability in Delhi’s private school sector.
