Up to Dh30,000 Fee for Releasing Impounded Cars in Sharjah

Motorists in Sharjah may have to pay fees of up to Dh30,000 to retrieve their impounded vehicles, as per the latest regulations from the Sharjah Executive Council.

The fees will vary depending on the severity of the violation committed, with tougher penalties aimed at reducing reckless driving on the roads.

This decision is part of ongoing initiatives to improve road safety and enforce traffic laws within the emirate.

Violations that could result in vehicle impoundment include reckless driving, unauthorized modifications to vehicles, and involvement in street racing.

Such behaviors not only jeopardize public safety but also compromise the integrity of Sharjah’s road systems.

Authorities have stressed that the fee structure is intended to deter dangerous driving practices.

Motorists are encouraged to understand traffic laws and comply with regulations to avoid incurring penalties.

This initiative highlights the emirate’s dedication to minimizing road accidents and fostering a safer environment for all residents and visitors.

Although the fees may appear high, officials have indicated that they are commensurate with the risks associated with the violations.

For less severe offenses, the fees will be considerably lower, yet still serve as a reminder to uphold traffic regulations.
