Dubai Announces Road Closures and Timings for New Year’s Eve

Dubai will start closing key roads, including parts of Sheikh Zayed Road, from 4 PM on December 31, according to the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA). Hussain Al Bana, the RTA’s executive director of traffic, shared these updates on Tuesday.

  • Start Early: Those heading to Downtown Dubai or other popular spots for fireworks should leave early to avoid delays.
  • Use Public Transport: Public transportation is highly recommended for convenience.
  • Leave Early If Not Attending: People not attending the events in these areas should also plan to leave early to avoid road closures.

Road Closure Schedule

  • Sheikh Mohammed Bin Rashid Boulevard: Closed from 4 PM
  • Financial Centre Street (Lower Deck): Closed from 4 PM
  • Al Mustaqbal Street: Closed from 4 PM
  • Burj Khalifa Street: Closed from 4 PM
  • Al Asayel Road: Closed from 4 PM
  • Al Sukuk Street: Closed from 8 PM
  • Upper Level of Financial Centre Street: Closed from 9 PM
  • Sheikh Zayed Road: Gradual closure from 11 PM
