The Dubai Autodrome is gearing up to celebrate its 20th anniversary during the highly anticipated 24H Dubai international race next year. The event is expected to feature the largest number of GT3 teams from across the globe.
Scheduled for January 11–12, 2025, the Dubai Autodrome will host its first endurance race of the year, marking the 20th edition of the 24H Dubai race. This milestone event will attract some of the best endurance racing drivers and teams worldwide.
More than 30 GT3 cars are set to hit the track, with the 24H Series Middle East Trophy making a return. This iconic race has been chosen as the highlight of Dubai Autodrome’s 20th-anniversary celebrations. Faisal Al Sahlawi, General Manager of the venue, acknowledged the event’s significance, saying it has firmly established the Autodrome as a global motorsport destination.
“The Dubai Autodrome has a proud history as the birthplace of the prestigious Michelin 24H Dubai race and has hosted it since the very beginning. It’s only fitting that we celebrate our 20th anniversary alongside this incredible event,” said Al Sahlawi.
He added, “Over the last 20 years, this race has grown significantly, drawing the top drivers and teams in endurance racing. We’ve witnessed countless memorable moments as the world’s best showcased their skills on our track. It’s particularly inspiring to see Emirati drivers excel, demonstrating the UAE’s immense talent and potential for a bright motorsport future.”
Since opening in 2004, the Dubai Autodrome has hosted over 20 international, regional, and local motorsport series, including the Asian Le Mans Series, FIA GT, Formula 4 UAE, and Formula Regional Middle East. The venue has been a crucial platform for both international and Emirati drivers to hone their skills.
Prominent UAE drivers such as Khaled Al Qubaisi, Saeed Al Mehairi, Rashed Al Dhaheri, and the talented Al Qubaisi sisters, Amna and Hamda, have competed at the Autodrome. Al Sahlawi emphasized the importance of supporting young Emirati talent, stating, “Nurturing Emirati talent is one of our core goals. These drivers represent the UAE on and off the track, and their success helps inspire the next generation.”
He further explained, “As a motorsport venue, it’s our responsibility to ensure a strong pipeline of drivers. By providing opportunities, we enable them to achieve their ambitions and inspire others to follow in their footsteps, making the UAE proud.”
Over the past two decades, the Dubai Autodrome has become a leading motorsport and entertainment venue in the GCC region. With continuous upgrades and new initiatives, it has expanded its offerings on and off the track.
“Enhancing our offerings remains a priority,” said Al Sahlawi. “Our Business Park has become a hub for the motorsport and automotive industry, and we’re committed to sustainability, as demonstrated by installing solar panels that now generate 100% of our energy.”
He also highlighted the success of their karting academy, which has a long waiting list of young aspiring drivers. “We’ve achieved a lot over the years, and we’re excited about our future plans to strengthen our position as a top motorsport and entertainment destination.”
