Bake Al Arab’s Record-Breaking Sales

Last week, Bake Al Arab in Al Warqaa reported daily sales exceeding Dh30,000 from National Day-themed desserts. Rashad TP, a senior sales staff member, shared, “There’s a huge demand for cakes, cupcakes, and other desserts. Custom orders bring in about Dh20,000 daily, and walk-in customers spend over Dh10,000.”

Corporate orders have been the bakery’s biggest revenue driver, with the largest cake of the year costing Dh5,000. Measuring over 1.5 meters, it was filled with fresh fruits and cream. “Our calendar is packed with corporate orders for another week,” Rashad added.

Mister Baker has introduced a 53kg cake to celebrate the UAE’s 53rd National Day on December 2, priced at Dh23,000 and available by pre-order. “National Day is always busy for us. Families that have been loyal customers for years place significant orders,” said Tushar Fotedar, director of Mister Baker.

Trending Flavors and Designs

Khadija Hussain, owner and head baker at KK Cakkes, revealed that Pistachio Kunafa is the most popular flavor this year. “Our Pistachio Kunafa brownies and fat cookies are trending. We’ve also seen high demand for macarons, saffron milk cakes, and bento cakes,” she said.

Rashad confirmed the rise in Pistachio Kunafa’s popularity, following viral trends, while Tushar noted that cakes featuring flags, logos, or UAE leaders’ portraits are highly requested to emphasize National Day themes.

Iconic Cakes for National Day

The celebration often includes iconic cakes. Last year, Mister Baker created two 100kg cakes for a corporate order. “Each piece weighed 50kg, costing Dh7,875 in total. Orders are increasing yearly as celebrations grow,” Tushar explained.

Khadija fondly recalled designing a special cake for the 50th National Day. “It was a stunning 3-tier cake with edible flowers in the UAE flag colors,” she shared.
