Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has announced a significant traffic diversion close to Dubai Harbour from July 13, with work commencing on a new bridge. Drivers traveling to the destination can anticipate delays and detours, with the diversion likely to remain in place until the end of the project. The RTA recommends utilizing Al Marsa Street and King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street as detours.
The new bridge is part of Dubai’s larger infrastructure expansion, enhancing connectivity between Palm Jumeirah and Dubai Harbour. While the diversion may cause temporary inconvenience, it aims to reduce long-term congestion in the rapidly developing waterfront district.
To reduce inconvenience, the RTA has set aside alternate routes via King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud Street and Al Marsa Street. The new bridge is part of Dubai’s strategic infrastructure expansion, aimed at improving connectivity between Palm Jumeirah, Dubai Marina, and the growing Dubai Harbour district.
While the diversion may cause temporary congestion, the upgrade will ultimately enhance traffic flow in one of Dubai’s most dynamic coastal areas. The RTA will deploy smart traffic management systems to monitor and adjust signals in real-time, helping to ease the transition for commuters.
