An impressive aerial display featuring the UAE’s Founding Fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum, was made using 11,600 flags to celebrate Flag Day on Sunday.

The 11th edition of the Flag Garden, located at Dubai’s Jumeirah Beach in Umm Suqeim 2, is organized by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Government of Dubai Media Office.

Stretching 75 meters long and 104 meters high, the garden will be open to residents and visitors until January 10, 2025.

Shaima Al Suwaidi, Director of Brand Dubai, stated that the garden’s design symbolizes the loyalty and pride of the UAE people towards their leaders, who have transformed the nation into a global leader. The Flag Garden also represents the unity of Emiratis and showcases national pride during important celebrations.

“This year’s Flag Garden honors two national icons who played crucial roles in the UAE’s growth since its founding over 50 years ago. The garden reflects the theme of celebrating the legacy of our Founding Fathers,” Al Suwaidi said.

Last year’s Flag Garden paid homage to Dubai’s visionary leadership for their vital contributions to the city’s progress in various fields. It featured portraits of prominent leaders, including Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai; Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai; Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, First Deputy Ruler of Dubai; and Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai.

Brand Dubai’s Zayed and Rashid campaign aims to celebrate important national events in the UAE and highlight a range of festivities throughout the emirate, from Flag Day to the 53rd Eid Al Etihad celebrations on December 2.
