Dubai is in preparation for its much-awaited event, the Dubai Marathon 2025, which will take place on January 12. This iconic event has attracted thousands of athletes from various parts of the world, thereby infusing vibrancy and electricity into the city. However, residents and tourists should expect immense traffic congestion and road blockades along the route of the marathon.
The authorities have promised that key roads in Dubai would be temporarily closed to allow the event to be held smoothly. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Boulevard, Jumeirah Beach Road, and parts of Al Wasl Road will be among the major affected roads. Traffic diversion will start in the early hours of January 12, and the normal flow of traffic is expected to resume mid-afternoon.
To avoid inconvenience, the Dubai Police and RTA (Roads and Transport Authority) have suggested that residents plan their journey and take alternative routes. Public transport services, including the Dubai Metro, will be available at higher frequencies to facilitate commuters and spectators. The event organizers are also encouraging participants and attendees to reach the venue early and adhere to all safety measures.
The Dubai Marathon is more than a race, but rather a celebration of endurance, community spirit, and international camaraderie. With the city getting ready to host this prestigious event, residents are urged to stay updated on traffic updates and cheer for the athletes as they take on this challenging course.
