In an extraordinary act of bravery and compassion, Captain Yaqoub of Dubai Police led a 20-hour rescue mission to save 14 pets trapped inside a high-rise tower during a recent fire in Dubai Marina. The daring operation involved climbing 54 floors on foot, navigating through smoke and hazards to reach the stranded animals.

A Mission Fueled by Humanity
As the fire engulfed parts of the tower, residents were safely evacuated — but many were forced to leave behind their beloved pets. That’s when Captain Yaqoub and his dedicated team sprang into action, determined to bring every animal to safety.

“They, too, are lives, and they deserve to be rescued,” Captain Yaqoub added.

Highlights: Climbed 54 storeys on foot through smoke and heat.

14 pets were saved, including cats, dogs, and birds.

The operation lasted more than 20 hours, with several rounds of search and evacuation.

No casualties among pets or rescuers.

Salute to the Heroes
Dubai Police’s approach has received significant appreciation from citizens, animal lovers, and officials. The surgery demonstrated not only technical competence and stamina, but also a strong sense of empathy and commitment to all lives, both human and animal.

Captain Yaqoub’s bravery serves as a strong reminder that courage takes many forms, and compassion frequently leads the way.
