In a proactive effort to improve road safety and minimize noise pollution, Dubai Police have set up 13 inspection checkpoints throughout the emirate. These checkpoints are designed to identify and address illegal vehicle modifications that compromise safety standards or generate excessive noise.

Targeting Unsafe Modifications
Officers stationed at these checkpoints are conducting thorough inspections of vehicles to ensure they meet road safety regulations. Modifications that boost performance at the expense of safety or create disruptive noise levels are being closely monitored.

In a statement, Dubai Police emphasized, “Ensuring road safety for all users is our top priority. These checkpoints are part of our ongoing efforts to uphold safety standards and reduce disturbances caused by unauthorized modifications.”

Hefty Fines for Violators
Vehicle owners found with illegal modifications face substantial penalties, including impoundment and fines that can soar up to Dh10,000 for the vehicle’s release. Repeat offenders may also encounter harsher penalties under UAE law.

Leveraging Awareness Campaigns
To enhance the effectiveness of this initiative, Dubai Police have rolled out awareness campaigns on their social media platforms. A video highlighting the checkpoints was shared, urging residents to adhere to vehicle regulations and avoid fines.

Public Safety and Compliance
Residents have welcomed this initiative, stressing its significance for road safety. “Illegal modifications not only endanger lives but also disrupt the community with unnecessary noise,” remarked a resident.

A Step Toward Safer Roads
The checkpoints underscore Dubai Police’s commitment to creating a safe and harmonious environment for all road users. This initiative is part of a larger strategy to encourage compliance with traffic laws and deter practices that threaten lives or disturb public peace.

With the establishment of these checkpoints, Dubai continues to set high standards in road safety and law enforcement, ensuring that the emirate remains a safe place for all.
