In a first at the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025, two Emirati women, Fatma Al Mamari and Alia Al Nuaimi, will take center stage as judges. This is the first time Emirati women will be featured in such high-ranking positions within law enforcement.

Al Mamari and Al Nuaimi are senior-ranking officers in the Dubai Police force, having earlier represented the Dubai Police Women’s Team in several competitions. Being both a former competitor and judge makes them even more qualified, having long experience in tactical operations. Al Mamari is among the 33 referees to take part in officiating the UAE SWAT Challenge at Dubai.

In addition to their professional successes, it has been significant to see the commitment of Dubai Police to the empowerment of women within the organization through their presence as judges. The Dubai Police Women’s Team was launched in 2021, and has helped break new barriers and create a new paradigm for women working in law enforcement.

The fact that Al Mamari and Al Nuaimi participated in the UAE SWAT Challenge 2025 is an inspiration to aspiring female officers, demonstrating that dedication and skill can take one to a leadership role in high-stakes environments. From being competitors to judges, they exemplify the changing landscape of law enforcement in the UAE as women increasingly assume pivotal roles in shaping the future of policing.
