Dubai Police Fines Over 12,000 Drivers for Noisy and Illegal Vehicles

Dubai Police’s General Department of Traffic has taken a strong stance against illegal vehicle modifications, issuing fines to more than 12,000 vehicles this year. This initiative is part of their efforts to enhance public safety and reduce disturbances caused by vehicles with unauthorized changes.

A large portion of the violations involved modifications to vehicle engines, chassis, and exhaust systems, which often lead to excessive noise that disrupts the peace. Specifically, 5,523 fines were issued for vehicles modified to create loud noises, while 6,496 fines were related to unauthorized alterations of engines or chassis.

Authorities are reminding drivers that any vehicle modifications, particularly those affecting noise levels or performance, must receive approval from the relevant authorities to ensure compliance with Dubai’s traffic regulations. Those found in violation may face significant fines and, in some cases, additional legal consequences.
