Dubai Police held their first meeting on Thursday to plan for the upcoming New Year’s Eve celebrations. A senior official pointed out that this event is one of Dubai’s biggest, attracting attention from global media and showcasing the Burj Khalifa alongside other major celebrations.

The meeting aimed to refine security plans and update strategies based on experiences from previous years to handle the celebration’s large scale effectively. Committee members discussed what worked well in the past and what improvements could be made to ensure smooth operations, focusing on overcoming previous challenges.

Planning for Smooth Celebrations

Discussions included arranging public viewing areas, entry and exit points, parking options, and transport routes, all designed to manage the flow of families and individuals attending the annual fireworks display.

Major General Abdullah Ali Al Ghaithi, assistant commander-in-chief for operations and head of Dubai’s Events Security Committee, stated, “The event will feature stunning lights, fireworks, and fun, attracting hundreds of thousands of on-site spectators and millions more watching worldwide.”

The Dubai New Year’s Eve Security Committee gathered for their first meeting at the Joint Operations Centre near Burj Khalifa. Among the attendees were Mishal Abdul Karim Julfar, CEO of Dubai Corporation for Ambulance Services, and representatives from various Dubai government agencies.

Major General Al Ghaithi urged all event staff to show patience, professionalism, and hospitality to enhance visitors’ experiences and reflect Dubai’s welcoming spirit. He also praised the committee for its growth and unity, noting the team’s increasing expertise and success in managing large events throughout Dubai.
