Dubai Suspends School Inspections for 2025–26 to Reconsider Quality

A key policy change, the Knowledge and Human Development Authority (KHDA) said that no inspections will take place in private schools in Dubai in the 2025–26 school year. The action is one step in a developing strategy to enhance long-term education quality and innovation.

KHDA said the break would enable schools and regulators to emphasize collaborative development, providing teachers with more room to introduce strategic enhancements without pressures from yearly inspection cycles. Schools will continue to need to maintain current performance levels and submit key academic data.

This break of one year is aimed at investigating other means of assessing school success, perhaps comprising student outcomes, peer reviews, and innovation-driven frameworks. The education authority insisted that the aim is to foster trust, accountability, and collective commitment to integral learning.

Parents and school officials have reacted with guarded optimism. While some are glad to be free of regular inspections, others are looking forward to seeing what types of new systems KHDA might implement to maintain transparency and educational excellence throughout the emirate.
