Dubai has secured the 4th position in the prestigious IMD Smart City Index 2025, making it the highest-ranking city in the GCC, Arab world, and Asia. This major achievement highlights Dubai’s commitment to leveraging advanced technology and infrastructure to enhance urban living.

The city surpassed global powerhouses such as Zurich, Oslo, and Geneva, particularly excelling in transportation, health services, and sustainable urban planning. Dubai’s seamless integration of AI, autonomous vehicles, and smart public transport systems contributed significantly to its top-tier ranking.

The IMD Smart City Index, which was created by the Swiss-based International Institute for Management Development, measures cities based on what people think about the use of technology to enhance the quality of life. The rankings include fields such as mobility, governance, environment, and citizen participation.

Dubai’s leadership attributes the emirate’s smart transformation strategy, in line with Dubai 2030 and UAE Centennial 2071. The city’s improvement in the index indicates increasing global recognition of its tech-savvy governance and citizen-centric innovation.
