The Dubai Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has initiated a large-scale trailer inspection campaign to promote road safety and meet the standards of vehicles. The campaign covered trailers and transport vehicles at several key locations around the city.
In the course of the operation, a total of 134 technical defects in trailers, from dysfunctional braking systems to deteriorated tires and defective lights, were discovered. These deficiencies constitute critical hazards not only for drivers but also for other people on the road, particularly on highways and busy roads.
Following the inspections, 88 fines were issued to owners and operators for failure to comply with safety standards. The RTA stressed the need to keep trailers and transport vehicles in the best of conditions to prevent accidents and save lives.
The campaign is part of the authority’s broader mission to uphold Dubai’s reputation for safe, smart, and sustainable transport infrastructure, and it will continue to be rolled out periodically across the emirate.
