Dubai has made another vital stride in its efforts to support Gaza at a time when the latter is in the midst of a terrible humanitarian crisis, by airlifting 68 tonnes of vital medical supplies. This airlift is part of a continued relief operation as Dubai Ruler Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum’s directive and an attempt to help solve the dire shortage of medical supplies in Gaza’s overburdened healthcare institutions.
This humanitarian mission is part of an air bridge program that has already sent multiple shipments of aid to Gaza. The current consignment includes life-saving medical equipment, medications, and supplies urgently required to treat injured civilians and support hospitals struggling to function under dire conditions.
International partners, along with the Humanitarian City in Dubai, have been centrally involved in the logistics arrangement of this operation. “The UAE continues to stand firm in its commitment to humanitarian concerns and causes and those in need,” said a spokesperson as part of the initiative.
As Gaza faces heavy challenges, it is this type of international cooperation that matters; it is when the emirate’s quick response serves as a lighthouse to show the critical support it is receiving to help overcome such difficult situations.
