Key Improvements to Visa Services

This initiative, launched by the Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (Mohre) and the General Directorate of Residency and Foreigners Affairs (GDRFA) in Dubai, aims to simplify the process and save time. With the new Domestic Worker Package, the following changes have been introduced:

  • Service channels reduced from four to one.
  • Steps required cut from 12 to four.
  • Service center visits dropped from eight to two.
  • Processing time slashed from 30 days to just five days.
  • Required documents reduced from 10 to four.
  • Transaction costs lowered by Dh400.

How to Use the Dubai Now App

Here’s a step-by-step guide for those applying for domestic worker residency:

  1. Access Services on the App: Open the Dubai Now app and navigate to the residency services section.
  2. Fill Out the Form: Submit a unified service package form, entering details of the domestic worker, identity, and passport information.
  3. Sign Employment Contract: The employment contract is signed electronically within the app.
  4. Medical Examination: The worker undergoes a medical exam, with results sent via the app.
  5. Issue Residency Permits: The worker’s ID and residency permits are issued through the app.

Part of a Larger Initiative

This rollout marks the third phase of Mohre’s Work Bundle Project, which unifies services for residence visas and employment permits on a single platform.

  • Phase 1: Introduced in Dubai in March and later expanded to all seven emirates.
  • Phase 2: Covered over 600,000 companies and more than seven million workers.

This new service ensures faster, easier, and more affordable visa transactions for domestic workers in the UAE.
