Coffee lovers and industry experts will gather in Dubai this February for World of Coffee (WOC) Dubai 2025, where the first-ever DMCC Specialty Coffee Auction will take place. Some of the world’s rarest and highest-quality coffee beans will be available for bidding during this exciting event.

In collaboration with DMCC (Dubai Multi Commodities Centre), WOC Dubai will offer around 20 exclusive lots of specialty-grade coffee beans. Buyers, including top producers from around the globe, can join in person or remotely through a cutting-edge digital auction platform.

Specialty coffee is graded using the Specialty Coffee Association’s 100-point scale. Beans scoring 80 or above are considered specialty-grade, but the auction will feature beans with scores of 92 and higher. With demand and prices for premium coffee skyrocketing, earlier this year a record-breaking lot, Elida Geisha Natural Torre from Panama’s Lamastus Family Estate, sold for $10,013 per kilogram.

Among the rarest coffees globally are Thailand’s Black Ivory, priced at $1,500 per kilogram, and Indonesia’s Kopi Luwak, selling for up to $1,200 per kilogram. These rare beans highlight the auction’s prestige.

Ahmed Bin Sulayem, DMCC’s Executive Chairman and CEO, shared: “The Dubai Coffee Auction 2025 highlights our commitment to shaping the future of one of the world’s most traded commodities. This event could set new price records for specialty coffee while solidifying Dubai’s role as a global coffee trade hub. By uniting producers, traders, and coffee enthusiasts, we’re fostering growth and innovation in the industry.”

The DMCC auction is a key feature of WOC Dubai 2025, the Middle East’s largest coffee trade event. Taking place from February 10-12, 2025, at the Dubai World Trade Centre, the event is expected to draw over 13,500 visitors and 400 international exhibitors.

With the MENA coffee market projected to reach $11.5 billion by 2025, WOC Dubai arrives at a crucial time for the industry.

Khalid Al Hammadi, Senior Vice President of DXB LIVE, stated: “World of Coffee Dubai is a vital platform for connecting coffee professionals, enthusiasts, and businesses worldwide. This auction emphasizes Dubai’s growing influence in the global coffee trade as a center for innovation, collaboration, and opportunities.”

The global coffee market is experiencing unprecedented growth, with prices at a 47-year high due to increasing demand and supply challenges. Events like the DMCC Specialty Coffee Auction bring together key players, offering insights into emerging trends and connecting the global coffee community.
