Dubai has announced a month-long celebration starting from November 3 to December 3, to commemorate key national occasions such as UAE Flag Day and the 53rd UAE National Day (Eid Al Etihad). The ‘Zayed and Rashid’ campaign, launched in partnership with 16 government, semi-government, and private entities, was initiated to honour the UAE’s founding fathers, Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the Dubai Media Council (DMC), shared that the initiative aims to pay tribute to the nation’s history while celebrating its progress.

Here’s what residents can expect during the celebrations:

  • Fireworks:
On December 2 and 3, fireworks will light up the skies at JBR Beach, Al Seef, Hatta, and Dubai Festival City Mall. Daily displays will also take place at Global Village throughout the campaign.
  • Seasonal Markets:
Markets like Beach Canteen, Ripe Market, and Winter Wonderland will offer Emirati-themed activities, local cuisine, and shopping experiences. On December 2, a Union Day Parade at City Walk, in collaboration with Watani Al Emarat, will showcase Emirati culture with traditional dances and performances.
  • Museums and Cultural Destinations:
Dubai Culture will host events at Hatta Heritage Village and Al Fahidi Historical Neighbourhood, highlighting the region’s rich cultural heritage. Al Shindagha Museum will feature interactive performances, and the Etihad Museum will focus on the UAE’s Union history through exhibitions and displays.
  • Expo City Dubai:
Expo City will host ‘Union Symphony’ by the Firdaus Orchestra, performing Emirati national songs at Al Wasl Plaza. The Plaza will also be adorned with UAE flags and traditional Emirati décor, and will host the Emirati Harvest Market.
  • Dubai Frame and Parks:
Dubai Frame, Dubai Safari Park, and Clock Tower roundabout will be illuminated, while major parks will host special light displays for Eid Al Etihad.
  • Dubai Airports:
A special area dedicated to Eid Al Etihad celebrations will focus on maritime heritage, welcoming visitors with traditional songs and cultural performances that reflect the UAE’s rich customs and identity.
