Dubai resident Isabel Ferrao reached the milestone of her 100th visited country, and celebrated it with a fairytale-style journey that is as adventurous as it is glamorous. From discovering haunted prisons in Latvia to attempting polar plunges in Antarctica, Isabel’s travel tale is one of contemporary odyssey.
Ferrao, who started her international odyssey a decade ago, pairs unconventional destinations with high-end accommodations. “I love pursuing adrenaline—but I also believe in a good spa day afterwards,” she says. Her travel journal contains hot air balloon flights over Cappadocia, star camping in Wadi Rum, and tripping to isolated villages in Papua New Guinea.
What differentiates her is her balance of opposites—swimming with sharks in Fiji one week, drinking tea at a palace in Jaipur the next. She writes about her adventures online, encouraging thousands with solo female travel tips, travel security, and secrets.
While Isabel now looks towards her next ambition—travelling to all UNESCO World Heritage sites—her journey serves as a reminder that with curiosity and determination, the world really is your playground.
