Dubai is about to change the face of urban transportation with the launch of the UAE’s first flying taxi vertiport, DXV, near Dubai International Airport. This is part of the emirate’s plan to introduce commercial air taxi by 2026 and a futuristic solution to traffic and connectivity between city hotspots.
DXV is the central hub for advanced air mobility and will feature VTOL infrastructure, advanced safety systems, passenger terminals and charging facilities for electric flying taxis. With being located near the airport, passengers will have quick connections between their flights and city destinations.
The air taxi will change the way we travel short distances, reducing travel times and contributing to Dubai’s sustainability goals. Once operational, it will be an efficient alternative to traditional road transport and will attract techy and eco-conscious travelers.
Dubai’s forward thinking initiative proves its commitment to be a smart mobility global leader. By using latest technologies and future transport solutions, the city will be the innovation hub and the benchmark for urban air mobility.
