Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) has registered a whopping 6.39 million public transport users for the Eid Al Fitr holiday, reflecting the city’s increased dependence on its smooth transport network. The increase in passengers testifies to the success of the RTA’s strategy to service the needs of the mounting number of commuters for busy holiday periods.
Of all the forms of transportation, the Dubai Metro led with a whopping 2.43 million riders, testament to its being one of the preferred ways to get around by residents and tourists. More reliance on mass transportation shows how much Dubai strives to make the mass transportation service for its inhabitants both sustainable and effective.
Since the city is developing very fast and people are depending more on public transportation, RTA is going to increase its services further in accordance with demand, providing ease to commuters round the year.
