Dubai-born star Rayhan Thomas is gearing up to play alongside two-time Dubai Desert Classic champion Stephen Gallacher. He is joining the other players for the first two rounds at the Final Stage of the DP World Tour Qualifying School, taking place at INFINITUM Golf in Tarragona, Spain.
At just 24 years old, Thomas turned professional earlier this year and has successfully navigated two tough stages to earn his spot in Spain. He aims to finish within the top 20 and ties, which would grant him playing privileges on the DP World Tour for the upcoming season. This opportunity represents a major milestone in Thomas’s career, allowing him to compete at the highest level of professional golf.
The Final Stage kicks off on Friday, November 8th, and consists of six rounds played across two courses at INFINITUM. Each player will tackle two rounds on the club’s Lakes and Hills courses before a 72-hole cut is made, narrowing the field and heightening the competition. The remaining players will then vie for the top 20 spots in the final two rounds to secure their place on the DP World Tour.
Joining Thomas and Gallacher in this high-stakes event are 90 qualifiers from the previous two stages, along with 62 players from the DP World Tour and European Challenge Tour who are already exempt for the Final Stage. The blend of experienced professionals and rising stars promises an exciting competition as all participants strive to earn their spot on the prestigious DP World Tour.
Thomas’s pairing with Stephen Gallacher, a seasoned player with a wealth of experience and two Desert Classic titles, offers a fantastic learning opportunity for the young golfer. Gallacher’s knowledge and calmness under pressure will be crucial as Thomas faces the challenges of the tournament.
